Halloween night is upon us once again—a time when the line between the living and the spectral blurs under the pale light of the moon. It’s a night of eerie sounds, flickering lights, and ghostly tales whispered through the wind. And what better spirit to guide us through this haunted evening than Chandelure—the ghostly chandelier Pokémon whose flames burn with the souls of the lost?

In this special Halloween artwork, Chandelure floats in a swirling midnight sky, its eerie purple flames glowing softly against the cool, haunted blue. The faint trails of ember drift behind it, like memories of the souls it’s collected, illuminating the darkness with a strange and unsettling beauty.

There’s a certain elegance to Chandelure’s design—a perfect blend of gothic charm and ghostly allure. It’s not just a Pokémon; it’s a symbol of how beauty and fear can coexist. Just as a candle burns brightest before it’s snuffed out, Chandelure reminds us that even in the spookiest of nights, there’s always light to be found.

This Halloween, as you carve pumpkins, explore haunted houses, or play your favorite spooky video games, let Chandelure’s flame be your eerie companion. But beware—its light may draw you in deeper than you expect…

Happy Halloween from Onion Pixels—where retro art and ghostly pixels come alive.

This drawing is my artistic take on one of the wildest pieces of video game history — the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles bootleg Famicom cartridge art. Fans of retro gaming know that bootleg covers from the 8-bit era often had their own unique (and sometimes hilariously off-model) versions of popular characters. That quirky charm was exactly what I wanted to capture and reimagine in my own style.

I call this piece Teenage Mutant Bootleg Turtles, a nod to those unofficial releases that somehow made the Turtles look both familiar and completely different. The proportions are exaggerated, the weapons are improvised, and the energy is raw — just like the art on those mysterious cartridges you’d find in a flea market or tucked away in a forgotten game shop.

Each turtle here is drawn with that same offbeat, hand-drawn aesthetic that made bootleg art so memorable. The rough outlines, bold poses, and slightly off shades of green all come together to celebrate the strange and wonderful world of unlicensed retro gaming.

This artwork isn’t just parody — it’s a celebration of the creativity and unintentional humor found in early video game culture. Sometimes, the “bootleg” versions tell their own story, one that’s just as nostalgic and entertaining as the official releases.

For this piece, I decided to take a creative spin on one of my all-time favorite franchises — the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! I imagined what it would be like to step into their world, grab a bo staff, and join the fight alongside the heroes in a half shell. The result? Luitello, my own Ninja Turtle alter ego! 🐢

I gave this version of myself the signature purple mask and bo staff, taking inspiration from Donatello — the team’s tech genius and inventor. But instead of sticking strictly to the classic turtle design, I mixed in some human traits and modern clothing to make it feel more personal and grounded. The torn jeans and casual stance give it that mix of street and sewer style that fits perfectly in the TMNT universe.

In the background, I added a mechanical creature to hint at the kind of enemies Luitello might face — something tech-based, of course! After all, what’s a modern-day turtle warrior without a few robotic foes to battle?

Creating Luitello was a blast and a way to celebrate both nostalgia and personal creativity. It’s a tribute to growing up with the Turtles, drawing inspiration from their teamwork, humor, and timeless sense of adventure.

💬 What do you think of Luitello?

🌿 Cozy Oddish – A Chilly Day Drawing

Sometimes inspiration sprouts from the simplest moments—like a cool autumn breeze and a warm scarf! This piece features a cozy, glasses-wearing Oddish all bundled up and ready for sweater weather. I wanted to capture a softer, more personal take on this beloved Pokémon by giving it a nerdy and heartwarming vibe.

I used traditional media for this drawing—ink and watercolor—to keep that organic feel that matches the character’s plant-like nature. The scarf adds texture and warmth to the composition, while the glasses give Oddish an extra dose of personality (and maybe a bit of bookworm charm!).

This drawing was a fun reminder that even the smallest characters can radiate coziness and creativity. I hope it makes you smile and maybe inspires you to create something warm and cheerful too!

Here’s my take on Cufant, the adorable Steel-type Pokémon first introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield! This friendly elephant Pokémon has always stood out to me because of its design — a mix of strength and cuteness that feels perfectly balanced.

In my artwork, I wanted to bring out Cufant’s playful personality and capture its warm, copper-like color with bold outlines and a vibrant background. The turquoise shading and stylized lines give it a slightly hand-drawn comic look, while still keeping that cheerful Pokémon vibe.

Cufant’s design is inspired by young elephants and industrial themes, with its metallic tones symbolizing its steel typing. In the games, it’s known for carrying heavy loads with its trunk, and when it evolves into Copperajah, it becomes a powerhouse of strength and determination.

This drawing was a fun one to create — from shaping its rounded features to highlighting that shiny metal cap on its head. I also added my own personal touch to the typography, writing its name and Pokédex number (#878) in a fluid, playful style to match the overall energy of the piece.

I love how this one turned out — it feels full of motion and personality, like Cufant is joyfully walking right off the page. 🐘✨

Today I want to share a drawing I made of one of the most iconic and quirky monsters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe—Time Wizard!

For longtime fans of the anime and trading card game, Time Wizard needs no introduction. Famous for its coin-flip effect that can either save you or completely backfire, it’s a card that embodies both luck and chaos. This unpredictable little spellcaster has always stood out to me, not just because of its role in Joey Wheeler’s deck, but because of its unique, almost whimsical design.

In my drawing, I wanted to capture that classic cartoonish vibe that makes Time Wizard so lovable while adding my own flair. The wide, expressive eyes, bold outlines, and slightly rough textures make it feel almost like it leapt right off a page of an old comic book. I leaned into bright colors—the deep red body, blue face, and gold clock details—to emphasize its playful yet mysterious aura. The staff with its roulette-like top and the exaggerated gloves and boots complete the picture, giving it that mischievous "roll the dice of fate" energy.

What I love about Time Wizard is how its design blends humor with tension. On the surface, it looks like a silly little clock with a goofy grin, but anyone who has ever played the card knows how tense that coin flip can be. Will you wipe the board clean or lose everything? That’s the magic of this character, and it’s what I tried to channel in this piece.

This drawing was a blast to create, and it reminded me why I’ve always had a soft spot for the more eccentric monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh!—the ones that bring personality and story beyond just stats and effects.

What do you think? Did I manage to bring out the whimsical chaos of Time Wizard in this piece?
